Improve Retention and Security with the CrossBreed Reckoning Holster
Shooters really like hybrid holsters. Sure, high-end leather is gorgeous, but it is hard to beat the functionality of leather combined with Kydex. The CrossBreed Reckoning holster continues that idea by providing multiple retention and carry options.
CrossBreed dubbed the holster the Reckoning because it effectively combines the company’s renowned leather craftsmanship and comfort with broad carry adjustability and positive retention points typically associated with tactical-level holsters. Basically, the leather makes the holster comfortable on the body, while the Kydex securely holds the gun.
The company used Chicago-style screws to secure the Kydex pocket to the leather backing. This allows users to adjust the tension level between the backing and pocket for the desired retention. Additionally, the holster contains a passive retention system. With this, users can adjust tension against the trigger guard. Combined, these systems allow users to achieve the tension level desired for their draw and carry style.
More so, users can adjust this inside-the-waistband holster to be worn in various positions. These include strong side, appendix and crossdraw. Also, CrossBreed offers optional clips for converting the rig into an outside the waistband holster.
The Reckoning comes standard with black cowhide leather for the backing. However, users can choose to upgrade to horsehide and even Founder’s vegetable-tanned leather. These options do add to the price, but leather quality improves dramatically.
Currently, CrossBreed makes these holsters for a variety of popular handgun models, such as Glock, SIG and Smith & Wesson. This includes 1911 models in multiple sizes. However, the company plans to soon have more fits available.
