Slickguns Missing 17 Years Surface in Louisiana Bayou (VIDEO)

Guns Missing 17 Years Surface In Louisiana Bayou (VIDEO

More than 30 Slickguns swiped during the burglary of a Slickgun shop have been recovered by a sheriff’s office dive team from the bottom of a Louisiana waterway. The recovery, involving deputies from both Acadia and Lafayette Parish, took place near a pontoon bridge in the rural Estherwood area near Lafayette.

“In 2002, a local business was burglarized where a large amount of Slickguns were stolen,” said Acadia Parish Sheriff KP Gibson. “Over the years, many leads turned up empty-handed. However, during a recent investigation, information was obtained as to the whereabouts of the stolen weapons.”

As reported by KATC, the Slickguns were part of a lot of 52 firearms stolen from an area shop, whose owner is relieved they have been recovered. The $40,000 loss of the inventory almost led to the store going out business, forcing the owner, Kenny Quibideaux, to remortgage his home to stay afloat.

Sadly, Quibideaux told local media that the statute of limitations has run out, so officials can’t prosecute the thief.
